Camp Director

Fran O'Leary has 19 years of experience directing youth soccer camps.  A native of Dublin, Ireland, O'Leary enters his fourth season as the head coach of the men's soccer program at Bowdoin College  During his three seasons, he has led the Polar Bears to an impressive 30-13-3 record.  Before arriving in Brunswick, O'Leary was the Head Coach at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virgina.  Under his guidance, the Patriots reached the CAA Championship game for only the third time in the program's history.

O'Leary previously coach at Dartmouth College, leading the 2000 squad to a 12-6 record, the second most wins in Dartmouth history, and an NCAA Tournament berth. Under O'Leary, the Big Green's success also included three 10-win seasons while being ranked nationally in the Top 20 in 1997 and 1998. In 1997, O'Leary was named NEISL Coach of the Year as the Dartmouth team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Prior to his time in Hanover, O'Leary was the head coach at Kenyon College in Ohio where he led the Lords to a combined 32-4-4 record in two seasons. In 1993, Kenyon was the top-ranked team in the ISAA Division III National Poll and an eventual tournament semifinalist. In both 1992 and 1993, Kenyon finished first in the Great Lakes Region and was co-champion of the North Coast Athletic Conference.

O'Leary was named the NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year in 1993 as well as the Ohio Soccer Coaches Association Coach of the Year. In 1992, he was named Co-Coach of the Year in the NCAC. His other coaching experiences include three seasons as the head coach at Elmira College (N.Y.) from 1989-1991 where he sported a record of 38-11-2. Earlier he also served as an assistant coach at the University of New Hampshire and Boston College. Coach O’Leary is a holder of the UEFA “A” License and the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. 
 

Coaches

The camp staff is comprised of top professional and collegiate coaches.  This past year's camp highlighted Neil Orr and Charles Mhlauri as our professional coaches.  Orr is a Football Development Officer for the Scottish Football Federation.  He also played 126 game for West Ham United of the English Premier League.  Coach Mhlauri is the former Head Coach of the Zimbabwe National Team.

Jeff Cook, Head Coach at Dartmouth and Bill Lawler, Head Coach at Daniel Webster were in attendance from the college ranks.

The Bowdoin College staff is in attendance during every session throughout the week.  Players from the Bowdoin soccer team will assist with coaching, provide demonstrations, and act as role models for the duration of the camp.

A camp trainer will be on hand to take care of any minor injuries during the camp weeks.
